HOW TO USE YOUR EAP

1. Locate the Hotline # 1- (800) 356-2909. (This Hotline is available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week).

2. Call the Hotline number. At initial telephone contact, an intake will be conducted and if appropriate a face-to-face session will be scheduled to evaluate the problem.

3. The office is open during normal regular business hours. If you call when the office is closed you will be asked to leave your name and phone number and your call will be returned on the following business day. If you feel you need to speak with a counselor immediately, you must state your call is urgent and a professional counselor will return your call immediately.

Associates for Life Enhancement, Inc. provides assessment, short-term counseling and referrals to community referrals if needed. All Services provided by your EAP are free to you and your immediate family. The number of EAP sessions is limited by contractual arrangement with your employer; however, the number of sessions necessary to assist you is a clinical decision, which will be made by your counselor in collaboration with you. To learn how many EAP sessions are available to you or your family members please call our office at (609) 569-1144 or 1-800-356-2909 or you may contact us through email at: info@eapale.com.

CONFIDENTIALITY: ALE, Inc. maintains the highest standards of program confidentiality possible under law. Your employer does not receive any information from ALE that could reveal the identity of a client. Nothing can be reported to an employer or outside interest without the expressed consent of the client except as required by law, or in a situation deemed potentially life threatening.

SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW: Utilizing the EAP will not affect your job in any way. However, if you are experiencing a work performance related problem the EAP does not protect employees from discipline for not following company policies. It is not of the EAP to have supervisory management actively looking for employees with problems. Such problems will generally surface when job performance deteriorates and one does not respond to normal disciplinary procedures. Supervisors will refrain from making any diagnosis of an employee’s problem. Referral for assistance shall only be made at the employee’s request or on the basis of job performance.

VOLUNTARY: Whether referred by self or supervisor, the EAP is voluntary. If a supervisor refers an individual, we do hope that the employee utilizes the service since a supervisor referral is based only on deficient work performance. Without some intervention, improvement is unlikely and further discipline is almost certain. The easiest way to avoid all of these concerns is to self refer.
